Latest from Ausiello

Question: At the end of "Bride" episode of Smallville we see someone I'm presuming is Lex. Will Michael Rosenbaum be making his return to Smallville anytime soon? -- Gilles
Ausiello: Okay, I have to choose my words carefully here: There is no deal…currently in place…for Michael Rosenbaum to… Smallville.

Erica Durance in Lana's Return

This week on the CW's Smallville (Thursdays at 8 pm/ET), Lana Lang (played by Kristen Kreuk) walks back into Clark's life, and at a most inopportune time — at least as far as Lois is concerned. "[Lois and Clark] are both discovering how and what they feel," Erica Durance previews in this video. "There is a moment when you think that they may actually admit that to each other... and then Lana comes back."

Ms. Lang, of course, is not some everyday high-school flame to be casually dismissed. As Durance notes, "The writers did a lovely job of creating this amazing first love relationship for Clark... and you can't take that away. What I worked really hard with the writers to portray is that Lois is sensitive to that."

So even though "Lois is a fighter... she realizes that sometimes you need to be patient," Durance says. The actress then adds, "We all know [Clark and Lois] end up together, but the joy is watching the journey. The more …

Amber in Tucson, Ariz.: On Smallville, does Davis (or Doomsday, for that matter) steal Chloe away before wedding?
We do soon see the full version of Doomsday, and he makes a special appearance at the wedding. (I smell a Graduate scene!) Lana (Kristin Kreuk) also will be in attendance, and just in time to interrupt Lois and Clark's lovefest. Meanwhile, we have Doomsday himself Sam Witwer coming to the next Watch with Kristin show, and I assure you, he does not disappoint.

What is Smallville's Chloe up to in the episodes following her wedding to Jimmy (airing Nov. 20)? — Sue
Matt: Since "Bride" is positioned as a massive cliffhanger preceding Smallville's never-super winter hiatus (rumored to be stretching as long as eight weeks this time), you can expect Chloe to have much to deal with in its aftermath — not the least of which is the fact that the poor thing will not have seen the last of Brainiac. Hopefully I can dig up more scoop in my imminent sit-down with "Groom" Aaron Ashmore.

Episode 8.14 - Requiem

Guest Stars: Kristin Kreuk (Lana)

- Tom Welling (Clark), Allison Mack (Chloe), and Justin Hartley (Oliver) are the only series regulars in this episode.
- This is Kristin Kreuk's final episode as Lana Lang. Sadly, those hoping for a Chloe & Lana "Delete" Smackdown Part 2 will be disappointed, as there is no such scene.
- One of the episode's villains is Winslow Schott, better known to comic book fans as "The Toyman."

Casting News

Color me gobsmacked: Tori Spelling is appearing on a CW show, and it's not 90210. At least not yet anyway. (More on that in a sec.)

Sources confirm to me exclusively that Spelling has finalized a deal to return to Smallville as Daily Planet's incredibly liquefying gossip columnist Linda Lake. The camptastic character, first introduced in a Jan. '07 episode, is unique among Smallville's long line of villains in one very significant way: she knows Clark's secret.
